a little nonsense now and then

is relished by the wisest men
Made this for my cover on FB. Because I’ve got election burnout and want it to be November so we can just ALL LIVE OUR LIVES AGAIN. But in the mean time, can we just take a second to think about how just plain old LOVELY the US would be with Matthew Stephen Ward as President? Instead of speeches he would write songs about what he’s gonna do to make everything better or how something things might never be better but we all just need to do the best we can and here, have a love song, and everyone would be lulled into happiness by the beauty of it all. Can you imagine him giving the Presidential address in SONG!? CDs would die out and everyone would listen to records again. It would be beautiful.

I really think it would be a good idea for me to buy M. Ward’s complete discography on vinyl. I NEED to hear these songs that I’ve loved for years on vinyl. I just need to get back into buying vinyl again, full stop.

M. Ward and openers The Lee Ranaldo Band (Sonic Youth) played The Vic Theatre in Chicago earlier this week and I had the pleasure of photographing it for Brooklyn Vegan Chicago. Here’s a peek…for more images, follow the link to Brooklyn Vegan Chicago: http://bit.ly/KnCZi6

“I’m not ashamed to dress ‘like a woman’ because I don’t think it’s shameful to be a woman.” -Iggy Pop
Iggy pop is such a bad ass. There’s an interview I watched where his manager talked about having to bail him out of jail. The manager shows up and Iggy is drunk, disorderly, and wearing a dress. His manager asked “Ig, why are you wearing a womans dress?” and Iggy replied “I beg to differ, this is a mans dress.”

It’s like Eddie Izzard says - ‘They’re not women’s clothes. They’re my clothes. I bought them.’
